Summer’s here! Last night we went out to the Phi Gam Initiation party as a group. The girls all wore sun-dresses and pretty summery outfits.  While typically this atmosphere would bring cheer, we found ourselves teary eyed at multiple points during the night.  The realization that our freshman year is now over came crashing down a little too hard.  At one point, we were standing in a circle hugging and I thought about where each of us was going to be this summer.  Paige will be the furthest - she’s going home to Virginia to work.  Abby will be in Charlotte working two jobs (lucky for her, Kaleb and Brendan live nearby).  Aria will be in Raleigh working, and I’ll be at camp in Henderson, NC.  I can only pray that this time apart will not be the end of our friendship.  I refuse to believe that next year will be any different than these past months we have spent together.
Thoughts like this make me so sad, I can barely stand it. Trace Adkins has a song “You’re Gonna Miss This” that is perfect for this occasion.

“You’re gonna miss this, you’re gonna want this back, you’re gonna wish these days hadn’t gone by so fast. These are some good times, so take a good look around. You may not know it now, but you’re gonna miss this.”

Exams started last week.  We partied on Reading Day Eve, but mostly spent the week studying and packing up our belongings.  The year has come to an end, and we all agree that the end came way too quickly. Aria leaves tomorrow, so tonight is our last night as a group.  We’re going to our last family dinner at Los. I hope I don’t cry.
As Brendan said to me earlier: “its okay its not goodbye its cya later!”
